Optimisation of the EDI third-party order processing with Dynamics AX and BizTalk Server

The objective of the project was to optimize third-party order processes between over 200 members and over 4,000 vendors by means of a system specially developed for the purpose consisting of Dynamics AX and BizTalk Server. BizTalk Server is used to exchange all the associated messages, such as orders, delivery notes, invoices, etc. with the business partners in the EDIFACT standard, to control the associated processes in a secure, stable and flexibly adaptable way, as well as to seamlessly integrate these processes into the AX system.

Solution

A complete EDI integration platform was constructed on the basis of BizTalk Server, QUIBIS EDI and QUIBIS x400 and linked to Dynamics AX. The business processes are mapped in orchestrations in BizTalk Server. The business process rules are flexibly modifiable at runtime thanks to the BizTalk Business Rule Engine. The solution allows seamless integration into Dynamics AX.
